Ventura County WIC is here to help you meet your infant feeding goals. Whether exclusively breastfeeding, pumping or combination feeding, we provide loving, non- judgemental and knowledgeable support to WIC clients in our community.
Our skilled bilingual lactation team is ready to support you meet your breastfeeding goals, navigate common challenges, or just provide reassurance. To make an appointment in person or by phone, call the WIC Call center Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm.
We can help with complex breastfeeding and breast pumping issues. If needed your WIC counselor may refer you to the WIC IBCLC (Board Certified Lactation Consultant) for a higher level of support.
A strong, hospital grade breast pump is essential in helping a mother establish or maintain her milk supply when she is separated from her baby or unable to latch her baby. Your WIC counselor will help you determine if you need a breast pump loan.
Medela Baby Weigh Scales allow us to assess how much milk your baby takes from the breast. This can be especially helpful if your physician has expressed concerns about your baby's weight gain.
1st time moms or mothers who had difficulty with breastfeeding before are encouraged to enroll prenatally for extra support from our caring PC team! PC's are available via text and after hours. All PC's speak English and Spanish. Support begins in your first or second trimester through 6 months postpartum.
